| FABRICATING |
|
A
large volume of our laser cutting work is in support
of the fabrication industry. Accurate and intricate
laser cut shapes can be cut in a wide variety
of materials eliminating the need for machining
drilling and dressing. The dimensions of laser
cut profiles can be met to within a tolerance
of 0.1mm, and exact reproductions can be guaranteed.
From one-off prototype laser cut parts to production
quantities, lead times are reduced and employing
computer control eliminates expensive tooling
costs. Virtually no distortion of the laser cut
part is caused due to low heat input. Some pre-formed
components, box sections and certain tube’s
can also be laser cut. Laser cutting is faster
than traditional profiling and will often be competitive
on cost alone.

A
more significant proportion of our laser cutting
work derives from the sub-contract engineering
sector where customers require one-off batches
with a short lead time. Because we can take drawings
straight to the machine without the requirement
for tooling, we can offer a quick turn around
catering for both prototype and high-volume production
work. We can cut a wide range of shapes, many
of which might traditionally have required machining.
We also offer JIT and annual call-off services.

A
growing part of our business includes laser cut
architectural metalwork where clients have a need
for greater design freedom. We have carried out
laser cutting work for shop fitters, architects,
sign makers and building product manufacturers.
We also carry out restoration work.

designers preparing for exhibitions, laser profiling
offers a very flexible and innovative production

how complex and include surface engraving. Laser
